The Solar System

This is our solar system. There are 8 planets in the solar system divided into two groups. The inner planet are called Terrestrial planets and are the smallest planets in the solar system. These planets are Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars. The outer planets also known as gas giant are Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. Now, let's talk about each planet.

Mercury

Starting with Mercury, is about 57 million km from the sun, and completes one obit around the sun about 88 days. It is the closest planet to the sun but the second hottest with  an average temperature of 332 degrees Fahrenheit.

Venus

Venus is the second planet to the sun. It is also the hottest. The average surface temperature on Venus is about 864 degrees Fahrenheit (462 degrees Celsius). The temperature on Venus changes slightly traveling through the atmosphere, growing cooler farther away from the surface.Solid lead would melt on the surface of Venus, where the temperature is around 872 F (467 C). Venus also completes a orbit around the sun in about 225 earth days. Fun fact: A day on Venus is actually longer then a YEAR on Venus because its spins really really slowly.

Earth

We all know about the earth. it is our home planet. Its the 4th planet from the sun. It completes on orbit in about 365 days. It is also the only planet in the solar system that is in the Habitable zone. The Habitable zone is a zone that can support life. It also travels 30 km per hour! Some other fun facts about the earth are: It weighs 5.972 × 10^24 kg which is such a large number, that it is the same amount as about 60000000000000000000 cargo ships! We haven't even reached the Gas giants yet but we are getting Huge numbers already!
